Q: Are there any setup fees for servers/hosting?

A: No, there are no setup fees.

Q: Where are your servers located?

A: We currently have servers located in Dallas, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Seattle, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, and London. Test your ping to these locations from the servers listed on the right side of your screen. We are expanding rapidly and if we do not have servers located close to where you live, we will shortly.

Q: Will I have FTP access?

A: You will have full access to your server with a powerful Web Based Tool called CS Admin and any FTP program you wish to use.

Q: What are HLStats and HLStatsX?

A: HLStats (For Counter-Strike 1.6 and Condition Zero) and HLStatsX (For Counter-Strike Source, Half-Life 2 Deathmatch, DOD:Source, and more) are web based stats and are different from in-game stats, which some mods provide. HLStats are maintained on our website. Click below to see an example of what your HLStats and HLStatsX would look like.

Q: Will you install mods on my server for me?

A: Most of the popular mods we have in our mods section you can install yourself with the click of a button inside CS Admin. If the mod is not available in the control panel preconfigured for you to install, simply open a support ticket and one of our experienced support specialists can assist you with more information on how to install mods.

Q:Why can't I find my server in the Steam server browser?

A: There are thousands of servers listed in the Steam list and sometimes it doesn't list them all when doing a search. The most common mistake is not setting the correct Region filter. When searching for servers click on "Filter" and select the region that your server is located in. The region setting is a setting within your server.cfg file (sv_region). If you select the correct region, then you should be able to easily find your server listed. Possible values for the sv_region variable are below. The most common variable for this is "1." If you want your server to be located in a different region, simply change the variable in your server.cfg file and restart your server. Searching in the Steam list with that region Filter should now being up your server.

// 0=US East coast, 1=US West coast, 2= South America, 3=Europe, 4=Asia, 5=Australia, 6=Middle East, 7=Africa and 255=world.

sv_region 1

If that does not work, try the "Run Steam Update" feature within your control panel. If Steam came out with an update, then your server may need to be updated to the most current version before itпїЅll show on the Steam list.

Q: HLSW is giving me an error

A: We are unable to provide support for third party programs. Please search the forums on their website or their faq's section for help with the program. The below link is a good place to start. HLSW has a known issue that says "can not view logs" when trying to retrieve "get logs" from HLSW. This is an issue with the program and not your server provided by us.

Q: I'm getting a "video mode" or "Direct X" error

A: This does not have to do with the server that you purchased from us. Please seek support for your video card or the game files on your computer might be corrupt. A common solution to these problems is reinstalling your video card drivers or your game.

Q: I want to switch my server to a different location.

A: If you would like to have your server in a different location, open up a Support Ticket and your server will be moved. Your server ip address will change, but your server configurations will stay the same. There is no fee assocated with this.

Q: What are the terms and conditions?

Q: I have my server set up how I like it - how can I backup my configuration?

A: You don't need to backup core files (like srcds.exe, etc) which have no configuration changes. You only need to backup files you have configured. Simply download those files by clicking on them in the file manager utility within your control panel. You can save them on your home computer as a backup. If you wish to download many files at once, check the box to the left of the filename and then click the "zip files" at the top of the file list. You may also download files to your computer quickly via ftp.

Q: I uploaded custom maps to my server, but they are not working.

A: Make sure you downloaded the maps from a trusted online site and you are not simply uploading maps that you have downloaded onto your computer automatically when joining servers. If you are simply uploading maps that you already have on your computer, then you will not have all of the needed files on your server for the map to function properly. Please redownload the map and follow the directions that that specific map came with. If you are getting the message 'missing BSP,'see the section dedicated to that message.

Q: I'm getting the error message "Error verifying STEAM UserID Ticket" and can't connect to servers.

Q: Why do map changes take so long?

A: If you have mani-mod installed on your server, check to see when your in-game stats are set to compile. Make sure stats are set to compile at the end of each round and not at the end of each map so there is not as much information to compile upon map changes. See the Mani Mod FAQ for setting your start to compile at the end of each round. Also, the longer the map time is the longer it takes to compile stats. Set your maps to last for the default 20 minutes. Please see the mani-mod section for further information.

Q: How do I enable fast map downloads?

1) You need to have dedicated web space to allow users to download maps from (Purchased from Counter-Strike.com or any other web hosting provider).

2) Add the following variable to your server.cfg file (replace with your web address)

sv_downloadurl "http://yourdomain.com/cstrike/"

At this location you need to create a directory structure to reflect what your counter-strike server directories and files look like (every file needed for the specific maps).

Place your maps at this location: http://yourdomain.com/cstrike/maps/

Any other files that are needed for the maps should be included in the respective directories as well.

Basically what you are doing here is creating a directory structure that is identical to your actual game server, except these directories will be located at a web address. You are then pointing your users to this location (by defining it in the server.cfg) to download maps. Many maps have sounds files, etc, so all of the related files must be put into the directories they are meant to be in. It is very important that you include the .res file with your map. This file tells the user what files they need to download (.bsp file. wav file in /sounds, etc.)

If you have any questions. Refer to the link below

See the FAQ for setting your start to compile at the end of each round. Also, the longer the map time is the longer it takes to compile stats. Set your maps to last for the default 20 minutes.

Q: Setting stats to compile at the end of each round.

A: You will need to change a variable in your mani_server.cfg file. Follow the instructions below.

3)Click on Game Servers

4)Click on your server ip address

5)Click on File Manager

6)Click on cstrike directory

7)Click on cfg directory

8)Click on mani_admin_plugin directory

9)Click on the drop down box next to mani_server.cfg and select edit

10)Find the variable mani_stats_mode and change the variable beside it to 1.

Q: Other Mani Mod Questions

Comprehensive Mani Mod Documentation: http://www.mani-admin-plugin.com/

Q: How do I unban a player?

A: If you have admin access, use the following command to unban a player from the chat menu:

@ma_unban [Steam ID or IP Address]

Example:

@ma_unban STEAM_0:0:123456

@ma_unban 192.168.1.1

If the above does not work, find your "banned_ip.cfg" and "banned_user.cfg" files in your server's "/cstrike/cfg" directory and delete them. After they are deleted, restart your server and all users will be unbanned.

Q: How do I add custom music and sounds to my Source Server?

A: To add music to your Source server, follow these instructions:

1) You must have Mani Admin Plugin Installed.

2) Make sure that your music/sound files are 44.1KHz sample rate - the Source engine is pretty picky about this.

3) Place your files (preferably mp3) in the /sound/admin_plugin/

4) Edit /cfg/admin_plugin/soundlist.txt to include all your sounds. See the mani admin plugin documentation on the website for how to do this, but the file itself is fairly self-explanatory.

5) Sounds can now be played in-game by admins by using the in-game menu system. If you want sounds to be automated, you'll need to find and install a plugin that will do this.

Note: It's advised to limit the number of sounds you load - users don't like to wait for 50 sounds to download before they can connect to your server.

Q: How do I add or remove maps to my Mani Mod admin system?

A: If you want to add or remove maps available in the Mani Mod admin system for map changes (Option 3-1), edit your maplist.txt file. The admin system pulls the maps from this file. Adding maps to this file will add those maps to this menu. Removing maps will remove them.

Q: How do I remove killer/victim stats?

A: You need to edit your mani_server.cfg file. Set "mani_show_victim_stats" and "mani_show_victim_stats_inflicted_only" both to 0, save the file, and restart your server. If this does not work, then you'll need to find and delete your "mani_player_settings.txt" located in "cstrike/cfg/mani_admin_plugin/data/" and restart your server.

Q: How do I disable Mani Mod (for matches, etc)?

A: There are several different ways to turn on and off Mani Mod.

1) Counter-Strike.com customers have an easy way to turn off all major mods including Mani Mod with a single ommand:

ma_rcon exec war.cfg

To turn back on your mods use the following command:

ma_rcon exec waroff.cfg

2) You can simply turn Mani Mod into "war mode" with the following command, which disables most Mani Mod functions and is allowed with most leagues.

Turns on "war mode" that turns off/disables Mani Mod

ma_war 1

Turns off "war mode" that turns on/enables Mani Mod

ma_war 0

Counter-Strike.com customers also have the option to turn war mode on and off through their Mani-Plugin menu.

3) With the MetaMod version of Mani Mod you can load/unload plugins on-the-go you'd need to type the following into console:

To stop mani:

meta pause (id)

To re-enable:

meta unpause (id)

Where (id) is a number, which can be gotten from the command meta list, also plugins are numbered in the order of the plugins in the metaplugins.ini file. So if mani is first, or the only metamod plugin, it's will always be 01.

Or if the id doesn't work you can type into console to exact directory structure of the meta plugin:

meta unload addons\mani_admin_plugin\bin\mani_admin_plugin_mm

4) With the non-MetaMod version of Mani Mod you can load/unload plugins on-the-go you'd need to type the following into console:

plugin_print

(search the index number of mani into your server console)

Then type:

plugin_pause

(and mani is disabled)

You can unpause mani by typing:

plugin_unpause

Q: Why aren't custom skins I added being downloaded?

A: Make sure each file is upload to the correct directory on your server. Each skin you download will come with its own unique instructions and should contain information on where each file should be placed.

Any custom skin that you add to your server will not be downloaded by players joining your server unless you add each file to the following file. The instructions on exactly what you need to do are in the file itself on your server.

/cstrike/cfg/mani_admin_plugin/downloads.txt

If you are installing custom admin skins, you will need to reference the following files to allow the skins to show in your skin menus. These files will contain the instructions needed to install custom skins and you do not need to add the files to your downloads.txt file. WARNING: Custom admin skins can stop your server from responding or crash your server. If you have problems after installing them, you may want to consider removing them.

/cstrike/cfg/mani_admin_plugin/skins/admin_ct.txt

/cstrike/cfg/mani_admin_plugin/skins/admin_t.txt

Q: I ran a Steam Update and now Mani Mod isn't working?

A: Steam updates will set your gameinfo.txt file back to default, which will cause Meta Mod to stop working. Meta Mod is what makes Mani Mod and other mods load correctly. Counter-Strike.com customers can follow the instructions below to fix this problem right after the update to get Mani Mod and other mods to work again that are running through Meta Mod.

1) Log into your game server control panel.

2) Click on "Game Servers."

3) If you have multiple game servers, click on a server IP address.

4) Click on the "Game Mods" icon.

5) Select "Mani Mod / Meta Mod Fix" in the drop down box.
