Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2015-16 academic year and receive their results from the U.S. Department of Education.

Students must receive their official Financial Aid Award Notice from PDCCC and view their awards in the student information system (SIS) to verify that the awarding process is complete. Students who submit a Direct Loan Request before receiving their official Financial Aid Award Notice may be denied.

Submit a Direct Loan Request, Master Promissory Note and Complete the Entrance Counseling per the instructions below:

Student Direct Loan Application Instructions

Please follow all steps below to apply for a Student Direct Loan (Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans).

Step 2 – Direct Loan Master Promissory Note

Students must complete the Direct Loan Master Promissory Note.

Step 3 – Direct Loan Request

After completing the Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note, students must complete the Student Direct Loan Request.

* Remember all three (3) Steps are required for your Direct Loan request to be processed.

Parent Direct Loan Application Instructions

Please follow the steps below to apply for a Parent Direct Loan (Parents of dependent PDCCC students only).

Step 1 – Parent Direct Loan Master Promissory Note

Parents must log into the Direct Loan web site using their Department of Education FSA ID and complete the Direct PLUS request (pre-approval) process. PLUS loan eligibility is subject to credit worthiness.

Parents must also complete the Parent Direct Loan Master Promissory Note even if they have previously borrowed a PLUS Loan from a Lender.

Step 2 – Complete Plus Counseling

Plus Counseling is required when the U. S. Department of Education has informed parents that you must complete PLUS Counseling.

After completing the Parent Master Promissory Note, parents must complete the Parent Direct Loan Request.

After logging in, click on Student Center .

Click the details of your “To Do List” to look for documents or actions required by you.

Confirm Your Financial Aid Award Is Correct

Under Financial Aid, click “View Financial Aid”.

  • To Reduce or Decline Your Student Loan
If you want to reduce or decline your student loan, you must notify Financial Aid in writing.
  • To Replace Your Student Loan with Federal Work Study

    You have the option to replace your Student Loan with Federal Work Study (FWS). You must first decline your Student Loan and be enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours. A separate application is required for FWS.
