High School students in British Columbia can receive credits for music studies in The Royal Conservatory of Music Program

If you are a student studying one of the following disciplines, you may want to work with your music instructor and school administrators and apply your music certificates to receive extra credits for graduation.

Here is a list of accepted disciplines by the RCM Exams music program which issues music certificates for these instruments.

If student is studying Accordion, Guitar, Piano, Voice, or Stringed Instrument and meet RCM requirements at the Grade 7 Practical + Grade 2 Theory - High School Credits will be applied for Grade 11

If student is studying Brass, Percussion, Recorder, or a Woodwind instrucment, and meet RCM requirements at the Grade 6 Practical + Grade 2 Theory - High School Credits will be applied for

Grade 11

If student is studying Accordion, Brass, Guitar, Piano, Voice, Stringed Instrument. Woodwinds, Percussion, or Recorder, and meet RCM requirements at the Grade 8 Practical + Grade 2 Theory .High School Credits will applied for Grade 12

For those students studying using the BC Conservatory of Music Examinations. the following apply:

"If student is studying Piano and meet BCCM requirements at the Grade 6 Practical + Grade 1 Rudiments - High School Credits will be applied to Grade 10.

If student is studying Piano and meet BCCM requirements at the Grade 7 Practical + Grade 2 Rudiments - High School Credits will be applied to Grade 11.

If student is studying Piano and meet BCCM requirements at the Grade 8 Practical + Grade 2 Rudiments - High School Credits will be applied to Grade 12."
