In versions of Internet Explorer prior to version 10, the Content Advisor feature was enabled by default. As of IE version 10, the functionality of the Content Advisor feature can be achieved with the new Family Safety filtering tool. Therefore, the Content Advisor feature has been deprecated and is disabled by default. If you have enabled the Content Advisor and you now wish to disable it, do so using the Group Policy editor. You can hide the Content Advisor options while leaving the feature enabled from the IE Internet Options menu.

Disable Content Advisor

Press “Windows-R” to open the Run dialog box.

Type “gpedit.msc” (omitting quotes here and

throughout) in the Run box, and then press “Enter” to open the Group Policy Editor.

Click the “User Configuration” tab, then click “Administrative Templates.” Click “Windows Components,” then click “Internet Explorer.”

Click the “Internet Control Panel” option, then click “Content Page.”

Click the “Show Content Advisor on Internet Options” entry to open the settings page for the Content Advisor feature.

Click the “Disabled” radio button, then click “Apply.” Click “OK” to save the settings.

Hide Content Advisor

Open the Run dialog box by pressing “Windows-R.”

Type “inetcpl.cpl” in the Run box, then press the “Enter” key to open the Internet Options dialog box.
