Where can I check the balance of my gift card, Pitch In™ card, or e-gift card?
There are three easy ways to check your gift card balance. You can check the balance of your gift card online . by asking a sales associate in store, or by calling 1-888-716-7994.
What will I need to check the balance of my gift card?
If you are checking your balance online, you will need the gift card number and Security Code or PIN number underneath the silver scratch-off, both located on the back of the card. If you are checking your balance in store, just bring the card with you. If you are checking your balance by calling 1-888-716-7994, then you should only need the gift card number.
Where can I find the “Check Gift Card Balance” tool online?
You can reach the online tool by clicking here or going to www.BestBuy.com/giftcardbalance . If you are starting from BestBuy.com, you can hover over the “Gifts” tab at the top, select “Gift Cards” and then click the “Check Your Balance” tab.
You can also reach this tool by scrolling down to the bottom of most BestBuy.com pages and selecting the “Check Gift Card Balance” under Product Support.
How do I use the “Check Gift Card Balance” tool online?
We’ve made it quite simple! Simply scratch off the silver backing and enter your gift card number into the “Card Number” section and the PIN into the “Security Code (PIN)” section, then click “CHECK BALANCE”.
My gift card number has been scratched/rubbed off. Now what?
No problem! If you have the original purchase receipt, call
1-888-716-7994 and we should be able to locate the gift card number for you as well as verify the funds for you while you are on the phone.
No receipt? We can attempt to locate your original purchase receipt via your personal information to locate your gift card number for you. We can even get you a duplicate receipt for your own records.
My Security Code or PIN number has been scratched/rubbed off. Does this matter ?
YES! Not only will you not be able to verify the funds on your card using the online tool, you won’t be able to redeem it in store or online. Although we are not able to access your card’s PIN number, we can certainly cancel the card and have it reissued to you for the remaining balance. Just call 1-888-716-7994 to have it canceled and reissued. It may take up to 2-3 weeks for you to receive your new card.
My gift card has a balance of $0.00! What happened to my funds?
Likely, the funds have been spent. Feel free to call 1-888-716-7994 for more information of the purchase history in which the card was used. We can all be a little forgetful sometimes of what money is spent from where, especially if we have multiple gift cards and purchases. It’s also possible that if you returned a purchase, the funds may not have been refunded to the card yet so keep checking.
Try troubleshooting a bit – did you enter the card number and PIN in correctly? If not, try again. If it is still not pulling up, call 1-888-716-7994 so we can look into it.
