How do i port forward my router

How do I access my NETGEAR home router?

NETGEAR home routers are manufactured with "Factory Default Settings". These settings can be changed by the user to suit their individual requirements such as setting up parental controls, changing the default password, or enabling the guest network. This article guides you through accessing the administrative web interface page for your router to change the default settings.

To access your NETGEAR router's web based setup page:

Newer routers include a sticker on the bottom or side of your router with the default access address, username and password. Examples are shown in the photo below.

  • Using a computer that is connected to the router with an Ethernet cable, launch a web browser. Examples of web browsers include Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox.
  • In the browser address bar, type  http://www.routerlogin.com. You can

    also try the following:

    • 10.0.0.1
    • 192.168.1.1
    • 192.168.0.1

If you changed your router's IP address from the default, enter the new IP address instead. Note. If none of these work, see the article What is the IP address of my NETGEAR router? for more information.

You are prompted to enter a username and password. ( Note: The username and password are case sensitive.) The factory default login credentials are:

    Username: admin

    Password: password

NOTE: If the default login credentials do not work, you might have changed the password. If you cannot remember your new password, you must perform a factory reset to restore the router to its factory default settings. For more information, see the "Restoring a NETGEAR Router to Factory Default Settings " article.

If you are still having problems accessing the login page, see these articles for further troubleshooting:
