Imperial Outreach Applying to University lecture

This first come first served event is open to school groups and individuals, it aims to provide an insight into the sometimes daunting task of writing a Personal Statement – what to include and what to leave out! There will also be sessions with current and former Imperial students and a campus tour.

Time Table:

12:50 – 13:00 Registration

13:00 – 13:15 Students’ experience talk – Imperial PhD student

13:15 – 14:15 Personal statment talk by Jane Marshall

14:15– 14:30 Imperial Alumni talk

14:30 – 15:30 Campus tour for booked groups/individuals (Subject to the availability of the tour guides)

Jane Marshall

Jane Marshall has been the Widening Participation Manager at Imperial since 2002. She set up the extremely popular School Visits Programme providing lively and entertaining talks and workshops on the application and interview process for sixth form students from around 130 schools and colleges mainly in and around London and South East England. She also works with Admissions Tutors analysing UK undergraduate applications and providing additional information on WP status. Prior to this, she was the WP Officer at LSE, a secondary school French teacher and rugby coach and a policy Project Manager at SCAA (now QCA).
