Doobie Brothers Tour to Include Solo Dates, Festivals in 2015
Classic rock legends the Doobie Brothers will once again be taking their show on the road in 2015 with a slew of new tour dates and festival appearances lined up for the months ahead. The latest Doobie Brothers tour will kick off on April 17 at the Isleta Casino in Albuquerque, N.M. and altogether more than two dozen solo shows are in store for the Vocal Group Hall of Fame inductee. Among those future shows are performances in cities like San Antonio (April 24), Austin, Texas (April 27), Knoxville, Tenn. (May 6), Los Angeles (June 6), and Highland Park, Ill. (June 30). In addition to the standalone concerts, the Doobie Brothers will be featured guests at several festivals around the U.S. beginning in the spring with Florida’s Tortuga Music Festival (April 11-12), and later including Detroit’s Rockin’ on the Riverfront Fest (July 10) and the Lockn’ Festival in Arrington,
Va. (Sept. 10-13).
The Doobie Brothers dropped a new album, “Southbound,” in 2014. The band’s first record in four years, “Southbound” featured country versions of the Doobie Brothers’ existing songs with special guests like Brad Paisley and Zac Brown Band.
Doobie Brothers to Tour with Peter Frampton, Boston in 2014
Following a successful joint tour with Boston in the first half of 2014, The Doobie Brothers are preparing to set off on a second co-headlining trek in late June with GRAMMY Award winner Peter Frampton. The venture will be a part of the second annual Frampton’s Guitar Circus, and the touring double bill will be featured at more than a dozen North American venues through July. The first joint concert is scheduled for June 22 in Cincinnati, and later stops have been planned for cities like Boston (July 11), Bethlehem, Pa. (July 15), and Tuscaloosa, Ala. (July 18), ahead of the final concert at Champions Square at the Superdome in New Orleans (July 20).
Later this summer, The Doobie Brothers will once again join forces with Boston for a handful of concerts at the beginning of August, including performances in Mountain View, Calif. (Aug. 2), Stateline, Nev. (Aug. 3), and West Valley City, Utah (Aug. 5). Fans will also have the chance to see the “Black Water” band perform a few solo shows this year; as of June 16, there are concerts already scheduled through Oct. 31, when the group will perform at Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario.
