What we provide
We provide copies of birth certificates where the birth occurred in our district.
If the birth occurred in Reading. Slough or Surrey please contact those local authorities directly.
This is a full copy of the birth entry and includes particulars of parentage and registration. This type of certificate is required to obtain a passport for people born on or after 1st January 1983.

You can request copies of a birth certificate using our online forms:

Certificates are produced within 2 working days and
are then ready to be dispatched. When requesting certificates you will be asked for your collection/delivery preference. You can choose to collect your certificates from Time Square, for them to be sent by second class post, or to be sent by Recorded Delivery at a charge of £1.62.
Please note that once the certificate has been posted, it is no longer the responsibility of the council and all claims for missing items should be addressed to Royal Mail directly.

Certificates cost £10.00 each. If the entry is in a current register the fee is £7.00 each.
