how hard is it to sell insurance

I'm currently work in a collections/ accounts receivable department, and I am getting tired of the constant negativity. A couple of people have told me I should sell insurance because I am a really likable guy. I was looking on Farmer's Insurance website and they say that in the first year you could make $54,000.00 and by the time you're in your 10th year you could make up to $330,000.00 per year. Those

are some pretty impressive numbers if that is true.

Also, I have heard that you have to be sleazy, and work 60-70 hours a week nights and weekends for several years before you can actually work a regular work schedule. Is that true?

I'm a very honest guy, and for what ever reason people gravitate to me, so I don't want a job where everyone despises me because I of what kind of job I have.

Is it hard work? Do you have to be sleaze bag liar? Is it door to door sales? Can you make bank? Is it straight commission or do you get some sort of salary, because I couldn't quit my job unless I had something to supplement my current income. How hard is it to learn?

Who is the best insurance company to work for? If someone could help me with some answers it would be greatly appreciated.
