Villagers eligible for RM100,000 loans

RESIDENTS in four new villages in Serdang can now apply for loans up to RM100,000.

Serdang parliamentary coordinator Datuk Liew Yuen Keong said the Federal government wanted ensure growth in these new villages.

“The Federal Government was concerned about the younger generation moving out to find jobs instead of starting their own business in their village.

“The loan under Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) is given to only those staying or have their addresses in the new village,’’ said Liew, who is also the Serdang MCA chairman at a press conference at the Serdang MCA office in Seri Kembangan on Wednesday.

Also present was Serdang MCA deputy chairman Datuk Hoh Hee Lee and Wanita MCA Selangor chairman Senator Chew Lee Giok and village heads.

He said were 3,400 houses in the new village in the Serdang.

Villagers in Seri Kembangan, Balakong, Batu 11 Cheras and Bangi Lama are eligible to apply for these loans which must be be

approved by the Federal Village Security and Development Committee chairmen.

He added that there were three types of loans that could be approved without having any colleteral.

The first is for paying for their house or land lease (premium) while the second is a micro-credit for doing business and the third for house renovations.

BSN Kajang branch micro finance executive for Selangor Mohd Anzaad Mohd Anuar said loans for renovations had fewer applicants than the other two.

Mohd Anzaad pointed out that for the micro- credit loan, the bank would approve up to RM50,000 if the business is running for more than six months.

“The loan of paying the land lease premium could reach up to RM100,000. The interest is only 4% and the duration of repayment is from two to 10 years,’’ he said.

Those staying in the new village in Serdang can call the respective JKKKP representatives.

They are Seri Kembangan – Tay Kim Loy (019-229 3833), Balakong – Yap Yoon (019-386 7890), Batu 11 Cheras – Goh Swee Nam (012-282 1735) and Bangi Lama – Yong Hok Chai (019-276 6834).
