I Received A Tax Notice

You opened up your mailbox today only to find an official looking envelope from the Comptroller of Maryland. Maybe you filed your return this year, or maybe you didn't. Maybe you didn't think you had to file one, but we think that you should have. Maybe you just made an honest mistake, or maybe you haven't filed in years. If you have not paid your taxes due in full, or have not filed a Maryland return that we believe you should have, you will receive an income tax notice from the Comptroller of Maryland. If you do not respond to the

first notice, an assessment notice will be issued.

Once you receive an assessment notice you will be billed for the amount of the assessment in addition to a substantial penalty and interest charge on the tax owed.
