How do I print a copy of my TurboTax Online return after filing, for my own records?

how do i do my tax online

After you've filed, it's a very good idea to print a copy for your records.

A copy of your return comes in handy if you need to amend, apply for a loan, or prepare a return next year. It's also much cheaper than paying the IRS $50 for a replacement copy.

When you print a copy of your return for your records, we give you two options:

  • Print everything that was sent to the government, plus all extra documentation, forms, and calculation worksheets.
  • Print a copy of the tax return forms that was sent to the government.

NOTE: We start by saving a PDF copy of your return to your computer, then you can view and print from the file on your computer. You may want to save a copy of the PDF tax return onto a memory stick, and keep with your printed tax return.

We can't print out copies of your original W-2 or 1099 forms (you used those to enter information into TurboTax). Keep those original paper copies you received with your printed return, or you'll need to get copies of those from the original issuer.
