'Lucy' doesnt work, and never did last year. However, she claimed that she received babysitting money as income, because she said she wanted to get certain credits for other things, but couldn't if she didnt have any income. I dont know how that works, but that is what she told me. As for the babysitting money, 'lucy' had her other friend 'mary' report on her taxes that she did

indeed pay 'lucy' babysitting money, so that 'mary' could get that money back on her taxes. I guess you can write off babysitting fee's on your taxes.

'Lucy' also wrote off her utility bills, rent, and car on her taxes as business. because she said she used her home for babysitting. (keep in mind that she never really did babysit, she just is claiming she did on her taxes.)

'Lucy' is also a college student. She got a full pell grant that paid for her school, plus student loans to help cover her other stuff. 'Lucy' reported that she paid for her college herself on her taxes, and got a credit for paying for tuition, however, it was the pell grant that paid for her school.

'lucy' also reported that she made donations, to made up places. She bragged about this as well.

I don't understand how this worked, and it cant be legal.

I thought a tax return was only if you actually paid taxes, and are getting what you over paid? How is she getting such a large return then?
