Here are a three of the best little secrets I’ve found to help you get over a boyfriend and move on .
First, pamper yourself.
It’s common to feel pretty down and depressed after a breakup .
Why not counteract this by taking good care of yourself. Get a new hairstyle, treat yourself at the spa, get a massage, maybe even get some new clothes. Nothing helps you with a new beginning like an exciting and sexy new look.
This also helps you move on because you are counteracting those negative feelings of depression and worthlessness that often accompany a breakup.
You send a strong message to yourself that you are worth all this special treatment. If you are trying to learn how to mend a broken heart, don’t discount how much of an impact treating yourself well and pampering yourself can have on your self-esteem.
Second, play some sports.
Getting your heart racing and moving your body is an excellent way to feel better.
First, there is a lot of good research out there that moving around a lot makes it harder for you to feel depressed and sluggish.
Second, all that exercise will help keep you fit and looking hot. This is great for your self-esteem and makes you much more attractive to others.
And lastly, you’ll have the chance to meet some new people and build friendships.
So consider joining that company soccer team or maybe some community team if your work doesn’t offer somethings. It shouldn’t
be hard to find a team that’s looking for a few new members to go out and enjoy some fun and exercise.
Third, go on an adventure.
Another great way to build up your self-esteem and confidence is to go out and see places that you’ve never been to before. What is even more empowering is doing it on your own without a man.
After my boyfriend broke up with me. I once went on a camping trip with one of my best friends to a beautiful place on the Washington coast called Kalaloch. It was so moving to be able to camp on the beach and look up at the stars at night.
It sort of makes you see things in perspective and all of the sudden all your problems don’t seem so big anymore when compared to the whole universe.
Don’t feel like you need to go on some extravagant, long trek across the world from Paris to Tokyo.
You can still get out and broaden your horizons and fix a broken heart by taking a short day trip in your area or even going to parts of your town that you’ve never really taken the time to explore.
So that’s what I’d recommend on how to mend a broken heart.
The theme with all of these things is to place value on yourself and to build your self-confidence.
We often feel very down after a break up, but keeping yourself feeling good and constantly growing as a person is how to mend a broken heart and recover from the devastating end of a relationship.
