Update: The IRS site still states that my DD date will be 2/13: "Your tax refund is scheduled to be direct deposited on February 13, 2009. If your refund is not credited to your account by February 18, 2009, check with your bank to find out if it has been received. Please wait until February 18, 2009 before you. show more The IRS site still states that my DD date will be 2/13:
I have actually spoken with an IRS agent. She said the IRS does not have specific days which they make deposits, it could be literally any day of the week. With that being said, I e-filed using TaxAct on the 16th of January (2009) and was given the 3th of February for my DD date @ "Where's My Refund". When the 3rd came and went, I went to "Where's My Refund" and got the message of processing delays and my new date was by February 24, 2009. So, I'm just going to wait and see. I also bank with Bank of America and asked them questions, they said
they treat EFT/ACH deposits as cash, as soon as the deposit is sent, they credit my account in real time with no delays and that the entire deposit is made available. She said if you don't see the money deposited, it hasn't been sent. Today is Friday, Feb. 13th, 2009 and as of yet there has been no attempt to make a DD by the IRS. You know what I think? I think we are in a much worse situation economically than Politicians want to say to avoid mass panic. However, I will wait and see, though I will not be a bit surprised if I get a message from IRS Where's My Refund that there's been another 2- or 3-week delay. Let's hope and pray we actually get refunds this year, we all are depending on them. I'll keep you posted on my results.
Oh, btw, TaxAct took their fees out of my bank account immediately when I submitted the e-file, so I know that's not the hold up.
Update: Now I get this message with no date.
